Founded in 1909, Lanzhou University is one of the top universities directly administered by the Ministry of Education and elected as one of the key universities in “Project 211” and “Project 985”.

Located in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province, Lanzhou University currently occupies a total area of 3807 mu and consists of 6 campuses with 2 affiliated hospitals and 1stomatological hospital. The university has totally 4,257 staffs and teachers working on the campus, of which 1,975 are faculty members, including 424 professors, 874 associate professors, 423 doctoral supervisors and 9 academicians. So far 20,083 students are enrolled in the undergraduate program, 10,646 students in the postgraduate and doctoral programs.

Now the university has 8 national-level key disciplines, 2 national level developing disciplines, and 32 provincial-level disciplines. The University operates the key laboratory of Applied Organic and 6 laboratories of Arid and Grassland Ecology, West China Environment, Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, Arid and Agro-ecology, Semi-Arid Climate Change of the Ministry of Education, a key laboratory of Grassland Agro-ecosystem of the Ministry of Agriculture. In addition, there are 1 Key Open Laboratory of Grassland Agro-ecosystems under the ministry of Agriculture, 2 Key Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, 4 Engineering Research Center under the Ministry of Education, and 1 China-Germany Research Center under the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
Lanzhou University is outstanding in the basic theoretical research and has made great achievements in the applied researches. Recently, the university has set new goals on pursuing national prominence based on Northwestern characteristics by undertaking national level projects, developing new disciplinary potentials and serving for the Gansu regional economic and social development.
Over 500 awards of national, provincial and ministry levels have been conferred to Lanzhou University, and more than 1000 books and publications have been released, over 4000 essays have been published in 2012. According to the statistics, Lanzhou University ranks one of the top universities which have published the largest amount of essays and of the highest citation rate. In recent years, the number of the essays published and cited by SCI takes the leading ranks of No.24 and No.16 among the Chinese higher institutions respectively.
Ever since the fall of 1987, Lanzhou University has been entitled to accept international students, among the universities authorized by the Ministry of Education. In 2002, the School of International Cultural Exchange was established to be responsible for the admission, instruction and the management of international students. In April.2008, Lanzhou University has been appointed as one of the higher institutions which are entitled to independently enroll degree program international students; the international student education has been developing tremendously. So far over 400 international students from 52 countries are studying on our campus under various kinds of programs.

Internship and Career
The university consists of 17 teaching institutions, 10 teaching assistant departments, 4 scientific research institutions, 11 affiliated hospitals, 12 teaching hospitals, and over 90 training hospitals & field practice bases as well. The General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University is a comprehensive first-class tertiary hospital integrating the clinical treatment, education, scientific research, examination and training etc. in Ningxia. It is one of the national 500 largest hospitals, and the medical service of the hospital covers the nearby areas of Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, and Gansu province, etc.
Application Requirements and Materials
Entry Requirements:
1.Applicants should have a non-Chinese passport and be in good health.
2.The degree applicants should be aged 18-40, others for Chinese Language & Culture program and summer exploration programshould be under the age of 60.
3.Academic requirements: postgraduate applicants must hold a recognized bachelor's degree or above, or equivalent.

How to Apply

Online Application Procedures
To complete the online application process, you need to follow the four main sections below:
1. Click 'Apply Now' button on this page and login, if didn't have the account, register first.
2. Fill out the online application form with real and correct informaiton, including personal information, education background, language proficiency, etc.

3. Upload the required application materials
Please upload photocopies of required application materials according to the university's admissions criteria.
All the materials should be MS-Word (.doc), Adobe PDF (.pdf) documents, image files (.gif, .jpg), or compression files (.rar, .zip). Each file cannot exceed 8 MB (megabytes)
4. Make payment
CUCAS offers five types of payment methods. Please carefully select your preferred payment method and to make the payment.
Students who choose Western Union or Bank transfer as their payment method need to upload the payment receipt after you wire the money at the post office or bank.
5. Submit application
Please submit your application once the application fee is confirmed by CUCAS. To submit your application, please access My CUCAS-> My Applications by logging in CUCAS, click 'Continue' at 'Application Status' column, and go to the 'Submit Application' section. You will see a big 'Submit' button. Click the button and your application will be sent directly to the university.
Once you've submitted your application, please wait 2-4 weeks for the university to process your application. Once the university has made a decision, CUCAS will notify you by email. You can also track your application status by logging into your CUCAS account.
Offline Application Procedures
The steps for 'Apply via Email' are as follows:
1. Choose a MBBS program;
2. Click “Apply via Email” to download the fillable application form and documents;
3. Open forms in MS Word and fill in required information electronically, please make sure the information is accurate and correct to receive your JW 202 form;
4. Send us the completed form and other required application materials;
5. Pay the Application Fee and CUCAS Processing Fee, keep the receipt;
6. Send us the copy of receipt, and the school will process your application once receiving your bank receipt;
7. Check your application process via email periodically, and track with your admission status;
8. Wait for your admission notice from CUCAS within 5 workdays, and the JW 202 form will send to you in 2-6 weeks;
